Spiritual Direction
What Is Spiritual Direction?
A gentle space to notice God’s nearness in the middle of your real life.
God is always present and always at work. But let’s be honest—sometimes it’s hard to see Him clearly. Life moves fast, pain gets loud, and even the most faithful of us can feel disconnected, unsure, or spiritually dry.
Spiritual direction offers a sacred pause. It’s a quiet, safe place to slow down, reflect, and begin to notice where God may already be moving in your story.
Here’s what you can expect:
- A trusted space for honest conversation about your life with God—your questions, doubts, longings, and hopes.
- A listening companion who’s prayerfully present with you and with the Holy Spirit, helping you pay attention to what’s stirring beneath the surface.
- Thoughtful questions and gentle guidance that invite you to look more closely at where grace may be breaking through.
- A rhythm of prayer and reflection, where you can speak to God and begin to hear what He might be saying back.
- A holy, three-way conversation—between you, a trained director, and the Spirit of God.
Spiritual direction is not about fixing you or giving you all the answers. It’s about walking with you, listening well, and holding space as you journey toward deeper intimacy with God.

What Does a Spiritual Director Do?
Think of a spiritual director as a trusted companion for your soul’s journey. Someone who walks with you—not to fix or lead, but to be with you as you listen for God’s voice and become more aware of His presence in your everyday life.
A spiritual director is primarily a listener. With prayerful attentiveness, they hold sacred space for your story. They listen for the voice of God in your words, your silence, your questions, and your longings—and gently ask questions that help you lean in and listen, too.
Together, in God’s presence, you’ll have space to:
- Hear God’s voice more clearly
- Notice and name where He is already at work
- Discern the movement of the Spirit in your life
- Reflect on His nearness, even in hard or hidden places
- Receive His peace in the middle of uncertainty
- Respond to His love with openness and trust
Spiritual direction is not about having the right answers—it’s about being held in a rhythm of holy listening, where God does the guiding, and you are gently invited to draw near.
